Refund Policy

Last Updated: August 10, 2026

1. Marketplace Transactions — Seller Return Policies

Streamster is a live-stream commerce marketplace that facilitates transactions between independent sellers and buyers. Streamster is not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. Each seller is responsible for establishing, communicating, and honoring their own return, refund, and exchange policies.

Before making a purchase, buyers should review the seller's individual return policy, which may be displayed on their storefront or communicated during a live stream. If a seller does not have a posted return policy, no returns are assumed unless otherwise required by applicable law.

2. Streamster Commission — Non-Refundable

Streamster's commission on each transaction (as set forth in our Terms of Service, Section 5) is earned at the time the transaction is completed. Commissions are non-refundable once earned. Commission rate is determined by subscription tier: Starter 4%, Creator+ 2%, Pro 1% (founding sellers grandfathered at 1%).

Buyers are not charged any Streamster fee — they pay only the product price plus applicable tax. Refunds for a purchase are handled by the seller, who is the merchant of record.

3. Subscription Refunds

3.1 Monthly Subscriptions

Monthly subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable for partial billing periods. If you cancel your subscription mid-cycle, you will retain access to your plan's features until the end of the current billing period. After that, your subscription will end and access to paid features will be discontinued until you resubscribe to a Starter or Pro plan.

3.2 Annual Subscriptions

If annual billing is available and you cancel an annual subscription, you may receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of the subscription term, calculated from the cancellation date to the end of the annual period, less any discounts applied at the time of purchase. Prorated refunds are issued at Streamster's discretion.

4. Dispute Process Between Buyers and Sellers

If you have a dispute regarding a purchase, you should first attempt to resolve the issue directly with the seller through the Platform's messaging system. If you are unable to reach a resolution:

  1. Open a Dispute: Submit a dispute using the guest order lookup (with your order number and email) or by contacting the seller within fourteen (14) days of confirmed delivery. The delivery confirmation is the carrier scan showing the package as delivered, not the date of purchase. If a package never arrives, the window begins when we confirm the shipment as undeliverable.
  2. Seller Response: The seller has three (3) days to respond to the dispute with a proposed resolution.
  3. Streamster Mediation: If the parties cannot agree, Streamster may, at its sole discretion, review the dispute and issue a non-binding recommendation. Streamster is not obligated to mediate and is not responsible for the outcome of any dispute.
  4. Resolution: If mediation fails, either party may pursue remedies available under applicable law.

5. Streamster's Role

Streamster acts solely as a platform facilitating transactions between buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction and do not take ownership of, ship, or guarantee any products sold through the Platform. For disputes resolved through Streamster's dispute process, Streamster is authorized to issue refunds on the seller's behalf per the Dispute Resolution Policy. We do not guarantee refunds, returns, or exchanges outside of our dispute process.

5a. Return Requirement

All refunds require the buyer to return the item in the same condition it was received. Refunds are issued only after the returned item is received and inspected. If the returned item is in a different condition than received, Streamster may issue a partial refund or deny the refund.

Exceptions — no return required:

  • Item never received — the carrier confirmed the package was not delivered
  • Shipping damage — the package arrived visibly damaged (buyer must submit photos of the packaging and item)
  • Seller agreed to a no-return policy — applicable only to listings where the seller has explicitly opted in

5b. Stripe Fee on Refunds

When a refund is issued due to a seller-related issue (item not as described, item not shipped, item arrived damaged, or wrong item sent), the seller is responsible for Stripe's transaction fees on the refund. The buyer's refund equals the full amount paid. Streamster deducts the fee equivalent from the seller's dispute reserve balance.

When a refund is issued due to a platform error (duplicate charge, wrong charge, or technical issue), Streamster absorbs the fees.

When a buyer changes their mind after receiving the item, no refund is issued unless the seller voluntarily agrees to one.

6. Chargebacks

If a buyer initiates a chargeback (payment reversal) through their bank or credit card company instead of using our dispute process:

  • The seller's account will be debited for the chargeback amount plus any fees imposed by our payment processor (Stripe);
  • Streamster may place a hold on the seller's pending payouts until the chargeback is resolved;
  • Excessive chargebacks may result in account suspension or termination;
  • Buyers who abuse the chargeback process (filing chargebacks for transactions that were fulfilled as described) may be blocked from making future purchases through the Platform;
  • Streamster reserves the right to pursue recovery of losses resulting from fraudulent chargebacks.

We strongly encourage buyers to use the Platform's dispute process before initiating a chargeback. Chargebacks should be a last resort for genuinely unauthorized transactions.

7. Digital Goods and Streaming Services

Digital goods, digital content, live streaming access, and other non-tangible products or services purchased through the Platform are non-refundable once delivered or accessed, except where required by applicable law. Due to the nature of digital delivery and live streaming, such products cannot be "returned" in the traditional sense. If you believe a digital product was not delivered as described, you may use the dispute process outlined in Section 4 above.
