Buy Links & the Checkout Funnel

Last updated: June 30, 2026

What this page helps you do: turn viewers into buyers with one-tap checkout links you pin during your stream — without changing your existing setup.

Streamster adds to the live-selling setup you already run — it doesn't replace it. Keep your OBS scenes, your Facebook and Instagram audience, and your workflow. You add one thing: a tap-to-buy link. Feature a product, copy its buy link, pin it on Facebook (or put your store link in your Instagram bio), and viewers tap straight to guest checkout.

The 10-second version: Feature a product → copy its buy link → pin it on Facebook (or put your store link in your Instagram bio). Viewers tap → guest checkout → done. Optionally, send fans to your Streamster watch page for one-tap buying with a clickable overlay.

Your two links

  • Product buy linkstreamster.shop/p/<code>. One tap opens guest checkout for that exact product (no login, mobile-first). Get it from ProductsCopy buy link, or from the Go Live panel when you feature a product.
  • Store linkstreamster.shop/s/<code>. Opens your whole catalogue. Perfect for "link in bio." Get it from Products → Copy store link.

These links never expire and always show the latest price and stock — they point at your live Streamster pages, not a one-time payment link.

Why two paths (and why one is tappable)

The in-video product overlay on a Facebook or Instagram simulcast is burned into the video — it can't be tapped. So on those platforms the funnel is: viewer sees the product on screen → taps your pinned link → lands on Streamster guest checkout. On your own Streamster watch page, the overlay is clickable — that's the premium, one-tap experience.

The live workflow (the only change to your show)

  1. Start your stream exactly as you do today (OBS → Streamster → Facebook/Instagram). See Go live in 5 minutes.
  2. In the Go Live panel, tap Feature on the product you're showing. The overlay updates everywhere instantly.
  3. Tap Copy & pin to copy that product's buy link.
  4. Pin it as a Facebook comment, and say "tap my pinned link to buy."
  5. Move to the next product and repeat. That's it.

✓ What success looks like: the featured product shows in your overlay, its buy link is pinned in your Facebook comments, and taps land on a guest-checkout page for that exact item.

Per-platform tips

  • Facebook — Facebook handles links in pinned comments well. Pin the featured product's buy link as a comment and re-pin a fresh one each time you switch products. Mention it out loud — "tap the pinned link."
  • Instagram — Instagram doesn't allow tappable links in Live comments, so it favours link in bio. Put your store link in your bio before going live and say "everything's at the link in my bio." For one-tap buying, drive fans to your Streamster watch page.

The OBS overlay (burned onto your simulcast)

Facebook and Instagram viewers only see the buy card if you burn it into your video in OBS — Streamster relays your video but can't add graphics after it leaves OBS. Add the Streamster overlay as a Browser Source once and it shows the current featured product, its price, and the buy-link text, updating live as you feature different products. (Buyers on your own streamster.shop watch page see the card automatically — no OBS needed.)

  1. In your dashboard's "Show the buy card on Facebook & Instagram" panel, tap Copy overlay URL. This is your own permanent link (streamster.shop/overlay/your-handle) — set it up in OBS once and it follows whatever you feature, every broadcast.
  2. In OBS: Sources → + → Browser. Name it "Streamster buy card", paste the URL, and set width 1920, height 1080.
  3. Drag the source above your camera in the Sources list, or the video hides it. Give it a few seconds to load. Toggle the source's eye icon to show or hide it any time.

Default position is bottom-left; append ?position=bottom-right to move it, or ?theme=brand to restyle. Note that ?position only moves the card inside your OBS video (it's burned into the video that goes to Facebook & Instagram) — the clickable card on your own streamster.shop watch page is separate and sits bottom-right by default, clear of the video's bottom-left card. If you move your OBS overlay, open your watch page to check the two still look good together. See Go Live → Show the buy card on Facebook & Instagram for the full walkthrough.

Fully additive. The OBS overlay is toggleable. If you already run your own overlay, just don't add ours — or add it in a corner. It never changes your scenes, keys, or existing graphics. To clear the card without touching OBS, flip "Show buy card on stream" off in your dashboard — it hides the card on Facebook/Instagram and your watch page. Featuring a product turns it back on.

What the buyer sees

Tap → product page → Buy → Stripe guest checkout (Link autofill, tax, minimal fields) → a clean confirmation with an order reference and a lookup link → a branded Streamster confirmation email. On a phone, the whole loop takes seconds. The order lands in your Orders dashboard. See Orders & Fulfillment for what happens next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't viewers tap the product overlay on Facebook or Instagram?

On a Facebook or Instagram simulcast the product overlay is burned into the video, so it can't be tapped — that's a platform rule, not a Streamster limit. Viewers tap your pinned buy link on Facebook, or your link-in-bio store link on Instagram. On your own Streamster watch page, the overlay is clickable for one-tap checkout.

Do buy links expire?

No. Your product buy link (streamster.shop/p/...) and store link (streamster.shop/s/...) never expire and always show the latest price and stock. They point at your live Streamster pages, not a one-time payment link.

Do I have to change my streaming setup to use buy links?

No. Buy links are fully additive. Keep your OBS scenes, your Facebook and Instagram audience, and your workflow. You just feature a product and pin its link. The on-screen OBS overlay is optional and toggleable.
