Getting Started with Streamster

Last updated: June 30, 2026

What this page helps you do: go from zero to your first live sale, in the right order — account, payments, product, platforms, go live.

Streamster lets you sell products live on Facebook and Instagram at the same time. You stream once from OBS, Streamster simulcasts it to both platforms, and buyers purchase through a checkout link without needing an account. This guide sets you up step by step.

The five steps, in order

Do these in order — each one depends on the one before it:

  1. Create your account and finish store onboarding.
  2. Connect Stripe so you can actually get paid.
  3. Add a product so there is something to sell.
  4. Connect Facebook & Instagram stream keys.
  5. Go live using the arm-then-start flow.

Step 1: Create your account

Visit streamster.shop/signup and create your seller account with email or Google sign-in. Then complete the short onboarding: set your store name, upload a logo, and add a brief description. This becomes your storefront identity.

✓ What success looks like: you land on your seller dashboard with your store name shown.

Step 2: Connect Stripe to get paid

From your dashboard, complete Stripe Connect onboarding. This links a Stripe account to Streamster so buyers can pay you.

Stripe is a prerequisite, not an afterthought. You are the merchant of record — buyers pay you directly through your Stripe account. Until Stripe onboarding is fully complete, your checkout links cannot accept payments. As merchant of record you also pay your own Stripe processing fees (about 2.9% + $0.30 per sale). See Payments & Fees.

✓ What success looks like: your dashboard shows Stripe as connected and charges enabled.

Step 3: Add your first product

Go to Products in your dashboard and click Add Product. Add at least:

  • A photo — clear, well-lit (1000×1000px or larger recommended)
  • Title and description — specific and honest
  • Price — your selling price
  • Stock — how many units are available

Have an existing catalog? You can bulk-import with a CSV file. Full detail in Product Listings.

✓ What success looks like: at least one product appears in your Products list, ready to feature during a stream.

Step 4: Connect Facebook & Instagram

You stream once to Streamster and it simulcasts to both platforms — but each platform needs a stream key. The two work differently:

  • Facebook — a persistent stream key. Save it once in Streamster and reuse it. (It can expire after a few hours of inactivity; regenerate it if Facebook rejects it.)
  • Instagram — a fresh, single-use stream key for every broadcast. Instagram also requires a Professional (Business/Creator) account, 1,000+ followers for RTMP access, and you must keep the Instagram Live Producer browser tab open the whole broadcast.

Step-by-step for both is in Connecting Facebook & Instagram.

✓ What success looks like: your Facebook key is saved, and you know where to grab a fresh Instagram key before each stream.

Step 5: Go live

Set up OBS Studio (or Streamlabs) with a single destination pointing at Streamster — paste the Server URL and Stream Key from your dashboard. Use the recommended 720p settings from RTMP Setup. No multi-stream plugin is needed.

The order is load-bearing — arm, then start. Click "Prepare to go live" in the dashboard first so Streamster can attach Facebook and Instagram while the stream is idle. Then press Start Streaming in OBS. If you start OBS first, arming fails with a STREAM_ALREADY_ACTIVE error — stop OBS, click Prepare to go live, and start OBS again.

Once your stream reaches both platforms, press each platform's own "Go Live" button — once on Facebook and once on Instagram. Streamster can't press them for you. The full quickstart is Go live in 5 minutes.

✓ What success looks like: the dashboard shows Facebook and Instagram as live, and your broadcast is visible on both.

How selling actually works

Streamster's selling model is deliberately simple:

  1. You share a checkout link for a product (or feature it as an on-stream overlay).
  2. Buyers check out as guests — no account needed — and pay through your Stripe.
  3. Orders appear in your dashboard. You pack and ship, then mark the order as shipped (add tracking if you have it).
  4. Buyers track their order at streamster.shop/orders/lookup using their order reference and email.

Tips for your first stream

  1. Do a quick test stream to check audio, video, and connection.
  2. Prepare 5-10 products so you always have something to show.
  3. Engage your audience — greet viewers, answer questions, create urgency.
  4. Keep your first stream short — 30-60 minutes is plenty.
  5. Promote in advance on your socials at least a day ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to start selling on Streamster?

A Streamster account, a connected Stripe account (so buyers can pay you), at least one product, and a way to stream — a camera plus OBS Studio or Streamlabs. To also broadcast to Instagram, you need a Professional Instagram account with 1,000+ followers.

Why do I have to connect Stripe before I can sell?

You are the merchant of record on Streamster, so buyers pay you directly through your own Stripe account. Until Stripe Connect onboarding is finished, your checkout links cannot accept payments.

Do buyers need a Streamster account to purchase?

No. Buyers check out as guests using the checkout link you share — no account required. After buying, they can track their order at streamster.shop/orders/lookup using their order reference and email.

How much does Streamster cost?

Three plans: Starter at $79/month (10 hours, 4% commission), Creator+ at $199/month (40 hours, 2% commission), and Pro at $499/month (150 hours, 1% commission). Extra live hours are $5 each. As merchant of record you also pay your own Stripe processing fees (about 2.9% + $0.30). Buyers pay no Streamster fee. See Payments & Fees.
