Shipping with Shippo
Last updated: October 16, 2026
What this page helps you do: set up shipping once, buy labels in a couple of clicks, and never miss the 7-day ship deadline.
You pay for shipping, and buyers always see free shipping. On Creator+, Pro and the free trial you buy labels through your own connected Shippo account from the Orders page. Shippo bills you directly and Streamster never touches shipping money. On any plan you can also ship with your own carrier and add tracking manually (that's how Starter ships). Either way, every order needs a label or tracking number within 7 days.
Price for postage. Because shipping is free for buyers, include your shipping cost in your item price. Orders over $250 require a delivery signature, so budget for it on high-value items. Checkout is US-only for now.
One-time setup
Shipping labels aren't a go-live step, you can set this up when you buy your first label (Creator+, Pro and the free trial). On Starter, skip straight to manual tracking.
- Open Settings → Shipping (the Orders page also sends you here if Shippo isn't connected when you click Ship).
- Click Connect Shippo. You're sent to Shippo to sign in or create a free account and approve access, then returned to the page you left.
- Enter your ship-from address.
- Enter your default package size. Length / Width / Height in inches and Weight in ounces. Streamster uses it for any product that doesn't have its own size or weight.
- For better rates, add each product's own weight and dimensions in the product editor (see Product Listings).
✓ What success looks like: Settings → Shipping shows Connected, labels bill to your own Shippo account.
Buying a label
- Open Orders (or the Shipping Center) and click Ship on a paid order.
- Streamster fetches live rates from your Shippo account. If the same buyer has several pending orders, you can combine them onto one label.
- Pick a rate (the cheapest is pre-selected) and click Buy label.
- The label PDF opens to print. The carrier, tracking number and tracking link are saved, the order shows as labelled (it moves to Shipped once the carrier scans it), and the buyer is emailed.
Buying labels in Streamster is a Creator+ and Pro feature, included in the free trial. Starter sellers ship with their own carrier and use manual tracking below. For orders over $250 the label includes signature confirmation automatically. Bought one by mistake? Void it before the carrier scans it.
Voiding a label
Bought a label by mistake, or need to change the package? You can void it from the order, on every plan, even after a downgrade, but only before the carrier scans the parcel. Once it has been scanned, the label can't be voided.
- Click Void label on the order. This sends a refund request to Shippo.
- The order stays labelled and shows Void pending; the button becomes Check void. Shippo credits your Shippo account once the carrier confirms the label wasn't used. USPS can take up to about 2 weeks, and Shippo processes refunds within 14 business days. Refunds must be requested within 90 days of buying the label.
- Streamster re-checks every day (and whenever you open the order) and emails you the result.
- Void accepted: the order goes back to unfulfilled, buy a new label or mark it shipped. If the ship-by date has already passed, you get a one-time 3-day grace to re-ship.
- Void rejected: if the carrier reports the label was used, Shippo rejects the refund and the order keeps its label. Contact support if the parcel never actually shipped.
- Don't ship with a voided label, even while the void is pending. A buyer can't cancel the order while a void is pending.
Shipping without Shippo (manual tracking)
- Click Ship on the order and switch to manual entry (on Starter the button reads Mark shipped and opens manual entry directly).
- Pick the carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon or Other) and enter the tracking number.
- Save. The order is marked Shipped and the buyer gets a shipped email with the tracking link.
Always add a real tracking number. Without one, the buyer isn't emailed, the order doesn't count as shipped for the 7-day rule, and delivery can't be confirmed, which also holds up your payout (see Getting Paid).
- The carrier has to scan it. A hand-entered tracking number counts as shipped once the carrier shows it has the parcel (an acceptance or in-transit scan). If there's no scan within 72 hours, the order goes back to needs shipping and we email you. The 7-day ship-by date doesn't move, so drop the parcel off soon after you enter the number.
- One tracking number, one order. A number already used on another order is refused. Several orders to the same buyer in one box can share it.
- Obviously fake numbers (all one digit, 123456789, "test") are refused. Amazon and "Other" carriers can't be checked automatically, so prefer USPS, UPS, FedEx or DHL, or buy a Streamster label.
The 7-day rule
- You must add a shipping label or tracking number within 7 days of the order. The rule is the same on every plan.
- Each unshipped order shows its ship-by date, and we email you a reminder at day 3 and day 6.
- If you don't, the order is cancelled and the buyer is refunded automatically from your Stripe account, and you get a strike.
- 3 strikes suspend your seller account. Contact us through the support form or support@streamster.shop about reinstatement.
Buyers can also cancel an order themselves (full refund) until you buy a label or add tracking, another reason to ship promptly. If a label void is accepted after the ship-by date, you get a one-time 3-day grace to re-ship.
Troubleshooting
- Rates won't load: check that Shippo is connected and your ship-from address and package size are filled in. Also check the buyer's address is complete.
- "Buying shipping labels through Streamster is included with Creator+ and Pro (and the free trial)": your plan (Starter, or the free plan after a trial ends) doesn't include labels. Ship with your own carrier and add tracking with Mark shipped, or upgrade to Creator+.
- Shippo billing questions: labels are billed by Shippo, so contact Shippo about label charges and carrier claims.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who pays for shipping on Streamster?
You do. Buyers always see free shipping at checkout, so price your items to cover postage. Labels are billed to your own Shippo account. Streamster never charges or marks up shipping.
Do I have to use Shippo?
No. Shippo is how you buy labels inside Streamster (Creator+, Pro and the free trial), but on any plan you can ship with your own carrier and enter the carrier and tracking number manually with Mark shipped. Starter does not include buying labels in Streamster.
What happens if I don't ship within 7 days?
If no shipping label or tracking number is added within 7 days of the order, the order is automatically cancelled and the buyer is refunded from your Stripe account, and you get a strike. Three strikes suspend your seller account. The rule is the same on every plan.
Which plans can buy shipping labels?
Creator+ and Pro, plus the free trial (which includes Creator+ features). Starter sellers ship with their own carrier and add the tracking number with Mark shipped.
Do some orders need a signature?
Yes. Orders over $250 require a delivery signature. Labels bought through Streamster for those orders include signature confirmation automatically, priced into the rates you see. If you ship with your own carrier, add signature confirmation yourself.
Can I ship internationally?
Not yet. Checkout currently accepts US shipping addresses only.
