Live Selling Tools
Last updated: October 24, 2026
Everything you use during and after a live is on your dashboard's Go live panel: each sale as it happens, your line-up with a Next item button, and invoice links for buyers who comment or message you. When the live ends you get a show summary on screen and by email.
Before the live
Schedule a live
On your dashboard, Schedule a live takes a name and a time. Your store page (streamster.shop/@yourname) then shows Next live with an Add to calendar link, and Copy post gives you a ready-to-paste announcement for Facebook or Instagram. Cancel it any time; it comes off your store page.
Your buy link and the on-screen card
The setup step Your buy link + on-screen card gives you the one link to pin as a comment on every live, a preview of the card viewers see, and the overlay URL for OBS. Phone streaming apps can't show the card: pin the link and say the item's code instead (below). See Buy links.
During the live
- Sales this live: every paid order appears within a few seconds (“Levi 501, $48.00, Mia C.”) with a short chime you can turn off, plus orders, sales and what comes to you after fees.
- Stream health: Facebook and Instagram status in one line, so you see a dropped platform straight away.
- Line-up: choose the items you'll show and their order (Edit line-up). Next item features the next one on your card, watch page and link; sold-out items are skipped. Stock left and each item's code are shown next to it.
- Holds and invoice links: see below.
“SOLD” comments: item codes and invoice links
Streamster can't read Facebook or Instagram comments, so it can't turn a “SOLD” comment into an invoice by itself (why, below). Two ways that work today:
- Item code (viewer does it): every item has a 5-character code, shown on the on-screen card and in your line-up. Say it on the live. A viewer types it under Got a code from the live? on your link with their name and email, and the item is held for them for 15 minutes while they pay. Nobody else can buy that unit meanwhile.
- Invoice link (you do it): someone commented SOLD or messaged you? In Holds and invoice links, pick the item and type their name. You get a message with a checkout link to paste into Messenger or an Instagram DM. The item is held for 24 hours. You can release a hold early.
A hold that isn't paid in time ends by itself and the item goes back on sale. Payment, Buyer Protection and payouts work exactly like any other Streamster order.
Why Streamster can't read comments (yet)
Reading comments on a Facebook Page's live video, or the live_comments updates for an Instagram live, needs permissions such as pages_read_user_content and instagram_manage_comments at Meta's Advanced Access level. For an app used by other businesses' Pages and accounts, Meta grants that only after App Review (a screencast and written use case for each permission) and Business Verification of Streamster, with the app in Live mode, the seller connecting their Page or professional account through Facebook Login, and an Instagram account that is public. Streamster sellers stream with stream keys today, so we also don't know the Facebook live video's id. Until Meta approves this, item codes and invoice links are the honest way to sell from comments; we won't pretend to read them.
After the live
- Show summary: when you end the live (or your app stops), See your show summary opens: orders, items, sales, what comes to you, top items, the orders to ship with their ship-by date, and when you're paid. The same summary arrives by email, once per live. Find it later under Your last live on the dashboard.
- Ship by: every order needs a label or tracking within 7 days or it's refunded automatically. See Orders & fulfillment.
- Sold out? Restock alerts: buyers who find an item sold out can leave their email (no account). When you add stock, each of them gets one email that it's back.
